Air Canada back to normal
Days after the horrifying crash in Toronto that injured 24 fliers, Air Canada, with one of its major hubs in Toronto's Pearson International Airport, has resumed normal service.
Canada's largest airline will try to adhere to its normal schedule, but warned passengers to expect some delays and even a few cancellations to and from Toronto as the airport tries to recover from Monday's crash.
In particular the airline said there were still some delays for flights headed to Albany, New York from Toronto and customers should confirm their flights before going to the airport, but otherwise it was business as usual at Pearson Airport.
Air Canada had cancelled all domestic flights to and from Toronto the day of the Air France accident.
All 309 passengers and crew aboard the Air France Airbus A340 survived after the plane skidded off the runway and burst into flames.
Air Canada recently started adjusting its schedules almost exclusively on its highest-frequency domestic routes as well as connections to the United States. Some flights were cancelled and others were added and provided with larger jets.
The moves came after a particularly problematic month of July, which saw numerous flights cancelled as a result of flight operation disruptions at the Halifax airport as well as above-normal inclement weather in the North-east United States.
This is particularly good news for anybody flying to Canada or the United States during the peak of the summer season traveling with Air Canada via Toronto.
