JetBlue to help flyers affected by tropical storm
High winds and heavy rains from tropical storm Katrina have caused a number of airlines to adjust their schedules. The storm is reportedly heading toward Florida, and a hurricane watch is in effect.
JetBlue has announced that it will waive change fees and fare differences for any of its customers who might have been affected by the storm.
In particular, passengers with flights for the 25th or 26th of August will be allowed to rebook their flights for another date up to the 31st for free.
This will primarily concern customers with flights to or from Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, Fort Myers, and Nassau.
If the storm continues, it is probable that JetBlue will maintain this ticketing policy.
With winds up to 50 miles per hour, the storm is capable of inflicting massive damage. Most recently its center was said to be 45 miles off the coast of the Bahamian city of Nassau, 185 miles from Florida's southern coast.
Currently the storm is moving towards Florida at nine miles per hour and is estimated to reach the Floridian coast on August 26.
