United adds two San Antonio flights

Chicago-based United Airlines has announced that two new flights will be added to its service at San Antonio International Airport.

Starting on October 31 of this year, there will be one more direct flight to and from both Washington, D.C. and Los Angeles.

Currently United offers three direct flights every day to both cities, along with numerous others that require a transfer in Chicago or Denver.

The Washington route will be served by United's partner, Mesa Airlines, using a smaller 66-seat jet.

The Los Angeles service will also be served with a United subsidiary, Skywest, with the same seating capacity.

San Antonio is one of Texas' largest business centers and is a major hub for travel in the Southeast and Southwest United States, as well as Mexico and the Caribbean.

United is the world's second largest airline, in terms of passenger mileage, and operates more than 3,400 flights every day to over 200 domestic and international locations.
