Continental launches new route to India

Continental Airlines has announced the launch of new daily non-stop flights from its hub in Newark Liberty Airport to the India capital of New Delhi.

The route is scheduled to begin on November 1, 2005 and will make Continental the only American carrier to offer direct service from the New York area to Delhi.

The non-stop flight will last approximately 14 hours, a two and a half hour reduction from the standard travel time to the Indian capital from New York.

To promote the route Continental is offering a one-way fare of $499, which will also be available from the airline's other hubs in Washington, D.C., Cleveland, and Boston.

A similar one-way fare with a direct flight is also available from Houston and Chicago at the discounted price of $549.

Travelers must book before September 12, 2005 to get the cheap airfares, and flights must fall between the dates of November 1 through December 13, 2005.
