Delta changes frequent flyer program

Delta Airlines will be ending its existing frequent flyer program, but travelers will still be able to accumulate miles and use them toward airfare discounts.

The old program will be merged into the SkyMiles program, which is effectively the same. Miles and points from the older frequent flyer system will be transferred to the SkyMiles program at the end of 2006.

Delta spokesman Anthony Black said the move was made to avoid complications and simplify the benefits programs for both the passengers and the airline.

Mr. Black added: "It brings all the programs together so you only have to keep track of one account."

Unlike many other frequent flyer programs, miles and points accumulated on Delta's SkyMiles don't expire as long as customers continue to earn, redeem, or donate some of their miles within three years.

I have been looking for Delta's old Frequent Flyer Miles redemption program from 1995. It is my understanding that the old FF miles were "grandfathered" under the old program but am am not able to locate the old "book". Can you help me?
