Delta to connect Big Apple to Lone Star State

New YorkDelta Airlines has revealed a new direct flight service from New York to two major Texan cities.

Starting on October 15, Delta will fly non-stop from New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport to Austin-Bergstrom International Airport and San Antonio International Airport.

Delta is promoting the new routes by offering cheap airfares. Tickets purchased before September 15 for travel between October 15 and December 20 will cost $99 each way.

Several other airlines have begun offering new direct routes to these cities as the Texan capital Austin is now considered one of the most hip cities in America, while San Antonio's economy has been booming.

All flights will be served by jets with a passenger capacity of 70. Two daily direct flights will run between Austin and New York; one between San Antonio and New York. More flights are available during the day, but require a transfer, usually in Atlanta.
