Hawaiian lowers inter-island fares
Hawaiian Airlines has responded to recent airfare cuts from its competitors by offering a new promotional discount on flights between the Hawaiian Islands.
Now travelers can fly between the numerous Hawaiian islands such as Kona, Hilo, and Lihue from $55 one-way.
Tickets must be purchased before September 8, 2005; the deal is valid for all flights until September 15.
The airline also recently announced that it would be accepting "cashless payments" for in-flight amenities such as alcohol, entertainment, and duty-free items. Travelers can now use credit cards, HawaiianMiles awards, and vouchers for purchases on board the airplane.
Hawaiian Airlines connects the South Pacific state to all major cities on the West Coast. It offers connecting service through its partners to most capital cities in the East Coast and Midwest.
The airline also has connecting service to and from eight Mexican destinations and offers international flights to Australia and Tahiti.
This year it had the highest on-time rate of all American carriers.
