Southwest increases flights to New Orleans

Discount airline Southwest has announced it will add more daily flights to the recovering city of New Orleans.

Starting October 17, there will be two new flights between New Orleans and Houston's Hobby Airport, boosting the total number of daily round trip flights between these cities to four.

Houston is one of Southwest's biggest hubs, and can fly customers from New Orleans to each of Southwest's destinations in the United States with connecting service.

Colleen Barrett, president of Southwest Airlines, said: "We take pride in the knowledge that we will, as always, be a good neighbor to our good friends in New Orleans, and we look forward to growing incrementally with them and being part of the city's rebirth."
