Caribbean Star launches package deals
Discount airline Caribbean Star has teamed up with the St Lucia Tourism board to offer travelers discounts on airfares and hotel accommodation.
The promotion will last until December 14, 2005 and should provide for some of the cheapest inter-island flights in the Caribbean.
Some sample discounts include a round-trip airfare between St Lucia and Trinidad and Tobago of $111 and $35 per night for a hotel.
Senior marketing officer with the St Lucia Tourism Board, Donna Compton, told Business Express: "There are about 23 hotels taking part in this venture, with all inclusive offers as well as guest houses and the packages are for a minimum two nights stay to a maximum of seven nights."
Furthermore, during the promotional period there will be two major tourist events taking place.
The first is a 240-boat trans-Atlantic race called the Atlantic Rally for Cruisers, and the other is the Callaloo World Music Festival, the first of its kind in Trinidad.
Currently Caribbean Star operates a number of daily flights between many Caribbean islands. So far it has proven highly popular and may consider expanding to Miami or Dallas.
