Northwest is most tardy airline
Beleaguered Northwest Airlines has been found to have the lowest on-time performance of all US airlines for the month of September, according to the US Department of Transportation (DOT).
Currently Northwest is facing mounting losses and a mechanics strike, so this will certainly not come as good news to its officials.
The airline's on-time percentage rate was 74.8, a significant drop from last year's rate of 85.4, but an increase from August's dismal figure of 67.2 during the peak of the mechanic's strike.
Recently, some mechanics have crossed the picket lines, but the majority of Northwest's current mechanics are replacement workers.
The DOT's study revealed the month's average on-time percentage for the industry was 82.7 per cent.
Hawaiian Airlines had the best on-time record with 96.3 per cent of flights leaving within fifteen minutes of the scheduled departure time.

Just curious ... Spirit Airlines Flight NK892 departs Luis Munoz Marin International (TJSJ) to MCO everyday, and connects to DTW w/a 5:44 (approx.) departure.
Here are the last seven departure times from MCO: 7:28, 11:28, 6:43, 7:11, 6:17, 6:45, 6:15. Granted it's usually several hours late departing from TJSJ... Any feedback from others?
