Aloha and pilots union agree to terms avoiding strike
© Aloha AirlinesAfter weeks of tense negotiations and the possibility of a strike, Aloha Airlines and the Airline Pilots Association (ALPA) have reached an agreement on a new contract.
It will come as welcome news to nearly everyone involved, especially passengers who had worried that they might not be able to travel.
Aloha, which is currently operating under bankruptcy protection, has been forced to make cuts in pay and re-negotiate contracts with all of its unions.
Prior to this agreement Aloha had agreed to terms with the other unions, but the ALPA was still holding out.
President and chief executive officer at Aloha, David Banmiller, thanked the pilots for their hard work at reaching an agreement.
He said: "This brings the pilots together with the more than 3,000 other employees who support what we are doing at the new Aloha."
