Allegiant Air to Lincoln
Low-fare airline Allegiant Air specializes in linking smaller cities across America with Las Vegas and Orlando, cities that otherwise would not have nonstop services to this nation's two largest leisure destinations. The latest addition to Allegiant's list is Lincoln, Nebraska's second largest city.
Allegiant Air will commence its cheap seat service on February 6 from Lincoln to McCarran International Airport (LAS) by 150-seat MD-80 twinjet.
This is quintessentially a leisure run, and will operate just twice weekly on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Market research shows that's enough, that local community leaders are ready for low-fare, nonstop LAS service. Central Nebraska residents were tiring of connecting at other airports to get to Las Vegas, or having to drive long distances to alternative aerodromes to catch a nonstop flight.
Allegiant's Lincoln-Las Vegas nonstop departs at 1pm, and touches down at McCarran International at 1.50 Pacific Time. The return flight pushes back from the gate at 7:45am, arriving at Lincoln at 12.20pm.
Allegiant Air is a leisure-oriented outfit, maintaining solid partnerships with hoteliers in both Las Vegas and Orlando. One example of this is a round-trip airfare and a three-night stay at the Four Queens Hotel & Casino for $288 per person. This deal is predicated upon double-occupancy, with a Wednesday departure and a Saturday return.
With a fleet of 20 MD-80s, Allegiant Air offers nonstop scheduled services from 28 U.S. airports to Las Vegas, and from 14 cities to Orlando. Its twinjets feature leather seats, and large overhead storage bins.
