US Airways offers extra vacation protection

When you travel, things go wrong. It’s going to happen sooner or later. To minimize the risk US Airways Vacations and Access America are offering an extra degree of protection for travelers.

A new Travel Protection Plan combines US Airways Vacations’ existing cancellation waiver with Access America’s post-departure insurance benefits and 24-hour emergency assistance services.

The protection package is available to travelers booking via the website, or through the carrier’s reservations center.

The Travel Protection Plan, when sold as part of the cancellation waiver, costs $49 per person for domestic travel, and $69 per person for international trips. It must be purchased when travel arrangements are booked (and paid for).

“Customers have enjoyed the peace of mind that our waiver program provides,” says Travis Christ, US Airways’ vice president of sales and marketing. “By including Access America’s post-departure benefits, our customers will save time and money by one-stop-shopping for all their travel protection needs.”

US Airways Vacations is one of the largest vacation package companies in the country. There are inclusive arrangements available to several fun ‘n’ sun destinations including Las Vegas, the Caribbean, Florida, Reno-Lake Tahoe, California, Hawaii, Costa Rica, and Mexico. There are also deals to New York City, Boston, and Europe.

Due to its recent merger with America West, US Airways now offers service to 225 cities in the United States, Canada, Europe, the Caribbean, and Latin America.
