Cheap flight roundup

In a new weekly service from Cheapflights.com, we will strive to bring you a roundup of all the latest routes and cheap ticket deals, making your low-cost flight life even easier. This week we feature a number of exotic new routes to the sun plus one of the cheapest flight deals ever known in the US. (All flight times are local.)

Atlanta to Jamaica Delta Air Lines has launched a new service linking Altanta's Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport with Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston, Jamaica. From June 1, Flight 281 will depart Atlanta daily at 11:35am and touch down at 1:35pm. On the return journey, Flight DL 332 will take off from Kingston at 2:25pm and arrive back in Atlanta at 6:30pm. The new route is subject to approval from the Jamaican government, but no problems are anticipated.

Boston and Washington to Cancun Delta Air Lines is also waiting for approval from the Mexican government on a Saturday-only hub-bypass service from Logan and Washington Dulles International to Cancun. If permitted, Flight DL 1667 will begin on June 3 departing Boston at 10:10am for a 1:35pm arrival in Cancun. The return flight, coded DL 1666, leaves Cancun at 2:30pm at arrives back in Boston at a very precise 7:23pm.

The Washington flight, DL 1545, leaves at 10:10am and arrives at 12:35pm. The return flight, DL 1546, takes off at 1:30pm, landing in Washington Dulles at 5:39pm. Government approval for the services is expected.

Boston to Nassau Also heading for sun, sea and sand is low-cost airline JetBlue. The New York-based operator has just started flying nonstop from Logan International Airport in Boston to Nassau Airport in the Bahamas. Seats are available at a one-way cost of between $104 and $299. The daily round-trip leaves Logan at 10:35am for a 2:10pm touch-down in Nassau. Passengers on the return flight will leave the Bahamas at 3pm and arrive back in Boston at 6:20pm.

Orlando to San Juan and Aguadilla JetBlue has also added two new routes to Puerto Rico, set to begin on May 3. Both depart from Orlando, one landing in San Juan and the other in Aguadilla. The two daily services to San Juan leave at 8:10am and 3:45pm reaching Puerto Rico at 10:55am and 6:30pm. Jetting back to Orlando there will be 11:05am and 8:40pm departures from San Juan, landing in the US at 3pm and 11:05pm.

The single daily departure to Aguadilla leaves at 11pm and touches down at 1:05am. The slightly more civilized return flight leaves at 4am and will get you back to Orlando at 7:05am. Standard one-way prices for either of the flights will be between $104 and $299, but introductory cheap seats are available for $84 if purchased before February 11 for travel between May 3 and May 24.

New York to Bermuda JetBlue also this week began seeking approval for regular flights between New York JFK and Bermuda. If government permission is granted, the airline will operate two daily flights on the route leaving New York at 8am and 2:10pm and landing in Bermuda at 11:15am and 5:25pm. Return flights depart at 12:05pm and 6:15pm, arriving at JFK at 1:20pm and 7:30pm respectively. One-way fares are expected to start at $129.

Indianapolis to Los Angeles Back in US skies and from May 9 AirTran Airways will offer regular flights from Indianapolis to Los Angeles, departing at 8am and arriving at 9:25am. The return flight leaves LA at 12pm and lands at 7pm. From June 20 a second daily round trip will be added with a 7pm departure, arriving at Los Angeles at 8:15pm before returning at 8am for a 3pm arrival in Indianapolis.

Meanwhile American Eagle plans to begin a nonstop service between Charleston International Airport and Dallas/Fort Worth International, beginning April 3. Two flights will leave Charleston each day at 7:47am and 2:45pm, landing at 9:35am and 4:36pm. The return service will leave Dallas/Fort Worth daily at 10.40am and 5.50pm landing in Charleston at 2.09pm and 9.10pm.

Spring deals with Southwest Southwest Airlines has released its spring travel prices with flights starting at $49 one-way. Flights for $49 include travel between Spokane and Boise, Seattle/Tacoma and Spokane, and Portland and Boise. Passengers can also fly between Philadelphia and Raleigh/Durham, Las Vegas and San Diego, and Baltimore/Washington, and Providence for the same price.

For $79 Southwest customers can get from Seattle/Tacoma to San Jose, Portland to Salt Lake City and Spokane to Oakland. Meanwhile $99 will get you from Seattle/Tacoma to Phoenix, Spokane to Los Angeles, Portland to Las Vegas, and Seattle/Tacoma to Burbank. The fares are available to purchase from today (February 1) until February 9 and are valid for use between February 21 and June 9 this year.

US Airways flights for 50-cent Undoubtedly the cheapest flights of the week are being offered by US Airways and Barclays bank, who, each day for the next month, are offering 50 flights for 50 cents. The tickets are available on a first come, first served basis, and can be purchased by anyone with a US Airways Dividend Miles World MasterCard, and each day the destination will change.
