DING! $28 fares from Southwest
Southwest Airlines is celebrating the first anniversary of its DING! service by offering one-way fares from $28.
The savings are available through DING! from today (Tuesday, February 28) for two days on selected Southwest routes. Tickets booked on these fares are valid for travel from March 7 through April 30.
DING! is a downloadable subscription service that delivers Southwest's latest deals direct to customers' desktops. To be eligible for these cheap seats would-be travelers must sign up to DING! via Southwest's website.
The advertised fares do not include fees or taxes, which may vary according to the exact flight, and seats are limited.
DING! has so far attracted around two million customers who have spent more than $80 million through the system over the last year. One man who has been there since the beginning is Frank Gould.
As DING!'s first customer Gould explained: "I've been using DING! since the day it became available and have taken more than 35 flights with DING!" According to the Nevada resident the service has helped him keep his travel costs down.
