United offers healthy snacks
United Airlines is offering passengers a new healthy eating snackbox. The RightBite box features high-energy, low-fat foods, and becomes the airline's fourth snack pack option.
For $5, health-conscious travelers will receive organic crackers and baked pita chips with a hummus dip; lemon peppered, seasoned tuna; gouda cheese; organic raisins and a mini Toblerone chocolate bar.
"Many of our customers have told us eating right while they travel is important to them," explained Jane Allen, senior vice president of onboard service. "We also offer three additional snackbox selections containing an assortment of food that holds something for everyone."
United's snackboxes have been on offer since January 2005. They are available on United flights of three-and-a-half hours or more and Ted flights of two-and-a-half hours or more.
The airline claims to have sold two million snackboxes since their introduction, and also offers the Jumpstart, Minimeal and Quickpick options.

Dear Rita, according to this page on United's Web site (http://www.united.com/page/article/0,6722,51257,00.html), the biscotti snacks are made by Mamma Says™.
