AA supports the campaign to Stop-and-Think

American Airlines is seeking to win some brand loyalty from passengers in north Texas by supporting a campaign to limit the use of Dallas Love Field airport.

There is a campaign in that part of the state to repeal the Wright Amendment, which limits the use of the airport to short-haul destinations.

However, local residents are concerned about the proposals, which could see traffic increase through the city-owned airport.

In response American is funding a campaign called Stop-and-Think, to give voice to these concerns and secure some goodwill from potential customers at the same time.

Dallas is a key economic hub in the region, meaning that there are a significant number of business travelers for American to compete for.

"While those who want changes to the Wright Amendment have been vocal, residents concerned that they will be negatively impacted by changes have not been heard," said David Cush, vice president and general sales manager at American.

"Time and time again, American has been asked to help. The result is Stop-and-Think, a broad-based, citizen-led and citizen-centric effort."
