AA offers surf sweepstakes

American Airlines is teaming up with Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines to offer six winners of "The Ultimate Surf Destination" sweepstakes a seven-night cruise for two.

Customers who purchase a ticket via the American Airlines Web site between now and April 30, and fly before May 31, will automatically be entered into the prize draw. Customers visiting the promotional area of the site can also fill out a registration form and enter without purchasing a ticket.

The winners of the sweepstakes will be treated to a week-long cruise on Royal Caribbean's new Freedom of the Seas ship, which features an onboard FlowRider surf simulator, and American Airlines flights to and from the departure port.

Three runners-up will also be treated to a four-night Royal Caribbean cruise for two including flights, while one person will walk away with a customized surfboard and a round-trip for two to any domestic surf spot.

Unable to resist a pun, Rob Friedman, American's managing director of interactive marketing, explained: "The Ultimate Surf Destination Sweepstakes reminds customers that they don't need to surf around the Web to find American's lowest fares, because they're easy to find at one spot: AA.com."
