American Airlines launches Bermuda offer
American Airlines has launched a special offer on flights to Bermuda with some going for as little as $129 one-way without taxes and charges.
Book online and travel between May 4 and September 25. Tickets must be purchased by April 4, and seven-day advance purchase is required.
The airline said that it wanted to reward both its loyal customers and Bermuda, which has been a popular destination in recent years. Figures from American show that between 2000 and 2005 it carried 511,100 passengers to and from Bermuda.
"Bermuda is a great American Airlines destination," said Chuck Imhof, American's managing director for greater New York. "We are grateful for our wonderful relationship with Bermuda, and to the many loyal travelers who have chosen American to visit this unique location."
American flies twice a day to Bermuda from New York JFK and three times a week from Miami. Passengers using JFK will get the chance to use American's recently opened Terminal 9.
The airline also said that it would begin offering passengers a helicopter service from the downtown Manhattan heliport later this month.
The deal with US Helicopter will deliver passengers on to the concourse next to Terminal 9 where they can check their baggage ahead of the flight.
