Aeromexico expands Chicago to Mexico City
AeroMexico is to add a second daily nonstop service on its Chicago to Mexico City route.
Mexico's largest carrier is to introduce the flight (on Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays) from May 2, and tickets are available to book now.
Jose Kuri, Senior Vice President of Aeromexico's U.S. division, said: "With the additional nonstop flight to Mexico City, travelers from Chicago will have the choice and flexibility to maximize their trip by arriving in the morning or afternoon – whenever is best for them."
A daily flight currently operates between the two cities (departing Chicago at 8.40am, arriving in Mexico City at 1.15pm and leaving Mexico City at 3.10pm to touch down in Chicago at 7.05pm), but demand from Mexicans living and working in the Midwest has been cited as the reason for expansion.
The new flight AM689 will take off from Chicago at 1.30am and arrive in Mexico City at 5.50am, while the return, AM688, will leave Mexico City at 8.20pm and arrive in Chicago at 12.12am.
Passengers will travel in a Boeing 737-700 and the airline boasts that food and cocktails are complimentary to travelers in all classes.
