Mesa makes clear code-sharing ambitions

Jonathan Ornstein, the chief executive of Mesa Air Group, has revealed that he hopes to be able to code-share with either US Airways or Delta Air Lines for the firm's planned Hawaii interisland service.

The Go! service is set to launch in Hawaii on June 9, with cheap flights selling from $39 one-way. The offer for this introductory fare has now been extended until Friday, April 14.

Phoenix-based Mesa Air Group is already closely affiliated with a number of airlines. It acts as a feeder-service for United Airlines, America West Airlines, US Airways, and Delta Air Lines.

The Business Journal of Phoenix reports that Ornstein is keen to avoid competing directly with his business partners, merely seeing potential for connecting flights.

The paper said that Ornstein told ATW Daily News that he was "optimistic" a suitable arrangement could be made.
