ATA adds flights in time for busy summer season
Seems everyone wants to fly in the summertime, and this season could be busier than ever.
To that end, discount airline ATA is adding extra seats ‘twixt Los Angeles (LAX) and Honolulu (HNL), a prime leisure route. Beginning July 17 there will be two flights daily – save Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
More added capacity: ATA is laying on a fifth daily nonstop between Dallas/Fort Worth International (DFW) and close-in Chicago Midway (MDW). The five-departure-per-day schedule will be in effect every day except Saturday.
All of these routes will be flown by Boeing 737s. ATA's "seven-threes" are fitted with all-leather seating, which can make a decided difference on a long flight.
To kick off the added service, ATA is offering discounted fares as low as $199 each way between LAX and HNL, and as low as $59 from DFW to MDW. These fares are at off-peak times, predicated on a roundtrip purchase, and you have to buy them 21 days in advance at www.ata.com.
ATA is in a bit of a resurgent mode just now. The extra Dallas/Fort Worth-Chicago, and Los Angeles-Honolulu service follows the launch of significant flight expansion between the West Coast and Hawaii, as well as from Texas to key business destinations on the East Coast.
