Delta fields largest ski slope schedule in its history
Seem like it’s far too early to start planning that wintertime ski vacation? Think again. The year is almost half over. Now might well be the time to lock in an itinerary.
To that end, Delta Air Lines and its Delta Connection partners intend to field some really significant service to the slopes this winter – 11 destinations in all.
The newest route is Montrose/Telluride, Colorado (MJT). It will be served daily this winter from Delta’s Salt Lake City (SLC) hub, and on a Saturday-only basis from Delta’s Atlanta (ATL) megahub.
More news: Delta adds daily nonstops from Atlanta to Steamboat Springs, Colorado (SBS) this ski season as well as expanding service from Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport to Bozeman, Montana (BZN); Jackson Hole, Wyoming (JAC); and Calgary (YYC).
In anticipation of more demand for ski trips, Delta is also boosting flights on the Salt Lake City to Aspen (ASE) route.
The new Salt Lake City to Montrose/Telluride sojourns will be via Canadair Regional Jets, while the Saturday-only flight from Atlanta to Montrose/Telluride employs a far larger MD-88.
This winter also sees the return of seasonal service between Delta’s Cincinnati (CVG) hub and both Jackson Hole and Vail, Colorado (EGE). Seasonal flights also reemerge from Atlanta to both Vail and Vancouver (YVR).
This ski-seasonal schedule starts to click in beginning about mid-December.
