Hawaiian Airlines wins award
For the eighth year running, Hawaiian Airlines has been named the top carrier serving Hawaii as part of Travel + Leisure magazine's 2006 World's Best Awards.
The airline also came in at fifth place in the rankings of national airlines, just behind JetBlue Airways, Midwest Airlines, Southwest Airlines, and Alaska Airlines.
President and CEO of Hawaiian Airlines Mark Dunkerly said: "Our employees work exceptionally hard to keep our customers happy, so it's extremely satisfying to see that Travel + Leisure's discerning readership gives Hawaiian such high marks each year for our quality of service."
The awards were given as a result of a customer survey which polled the standard of several flight categories, including cabin comfort and in-flight service.
The airline, the 11th largest in the US, provides more nonstop routes between Hawaii and the U.S. than any other carrier and also offers services to Australia, Tahiti, and American Samoa.
