JetBlue offers Orlando from $99

Downtown OrlandoPassengers can now fly nonstop from the Big Apple to Orlando, Florida, for as little as $99 with low-cost carrier JetBlue Airways.

Starting on July 20, the nonstop daily service is scheduled to take off from New York's Syracuse-Hancock International Airport at 4.20pm, touching down in Orlando at 7.10pm. The return flight departs Orlando International at 12.55pm and should be back at Syracuse by 3.40pm.

Passengers will travel on one of JetBlue's fleet of Airbus A320s, with leather seats, a choice of 36 DIRECTV channels and the option of extra legroom.

Advertised fares are one-way, excluding charges and taxes, and require a seven-day advance purchase. They are also nonrefundable, although some changes can be made for $30 prior to departure.

The new service has received praise from particularly prestigious quarters, with Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton saying JetBlue had "shown its dedication" to New York for five years.

"Now, with new service to Orlando and more service to New York City, residents of Syracuse have even more low-fare choices and more people will have the opportunity to visit and do business in the region," she said.

The airline will also add a fourth daily flight to its service from Syracuse to John F. Kennedy International from November 1. Scheduled to depart at 6.55pm, the flight duration is around one hour, and will land at 8.10pm.
