LAX’s organic oasis – new restaurant opens
In search of life-giving sustenance at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX)? Consider Eaturna, a new, wholesome foods eatery in Terminal 1. That’s the terminal catering to Southwest Airlines and US Airways’ passengers.
Eaturna’s menu ranges from new-age culinary creations to more traditional, comforting fare. The restaurant uses organic flour, and antibiotic- and hormone-free meats and poultry in preparing its meals. The result, contends Eaturna, is food that’s “either much lower in fat and calories, or nutritious, or both”.
Eaturna specializes in fresh gourmet salads, all natural wraps, and sandwiches – just the kind of fare you can bring on board with minimum hassle (remember, Southwest doesn’t serve meals).
Chefs Beth Ginsberg and Akasha Richmond are the creative forces behind the menu. Both are at the cutting edge of the healthy foods movement. Ginsberg has been featured on HGTV, Martha Stewart, 20-20, Access Hollywood, Extra, The View, and The Barbara Walters Show.
Richmond is a contributing editor for Vegetarian Times magazine, and author of Hollywood Dish (Avery 2006), a cookbook chronicling the 100-year history of healthy eating and lifestyles in Los Angeles.
