Up front transcon deals on United
$650 might seem a bit steep for a seat between the East and West Coasts until you consider that it’s business class, specifically United Airlines’ p.s. transcontinental premium service.
Buy by July 1 and complete your trip by July 9 and all sorts of perks can be yours for a comparatively pecuniary price. That $650 puts you up front on either UA’s nonstop service from New York JFK to Los Angeles (LAX), or JFK to San Francisco (SFO). The one-way price is pegged to a round-trip purchase, and a seven-day advance purchase is required.
More details: if you depart Sunday through Wednesday you’ll have to stay over a minimum of three nights. If you leave Thursday through Friday, you’ll have to stay over Friday night. Should you leave Saturdays, you’ve got to stay over Saturday night. Various taxes and fees aren’t included in the $650 price tag.
So, what do you get up front, in the pointy end of the airplane? How about a refreshing Bellini or Kir Royale signature champagne cocktail as you settle into your leather seat, which reclines 150 degrees and is fitted with adapter-free power ports for your computer?
You also get your own DVD player, lots of movies, and a set of noise-canceling headsets. Gourmet food is part ‘n parcel of the p.s. experience – as are 50 per cent more Mileage Plus Elite Qualifying Miles for the trip when you book in "Z" class.
