Allegiant celebrates Lansing anniversary
Vacation airline Allegiant Air celebrated the third anniversary of nonstop service between Lansing, Michigan, and Las Vegas, Nevada, yesterday (Monday, July 10).
The service between its Las Vegas hub and one of its more popular regional airports started in 2003 and has carried almost 150,000 passengers.
The airline's popularity is down to its low fares. Since Allegiant began flying from Lansing, the average ticket price paid by travelers is 35 percent less.
"Michigan travelers love flying Allegiant Air nonstop to Las Vegas from Lansing," said Robert Selig, Executive Director at Lansing's Capital City Airport.
"Allegiant Air has been successful by offering great low airfares that help make flying affordable and fun," he added.
Allegiant's service from Lansing also expanded last May to include nonstop flights to Orlando, Florida.
