Honolulu to pilot valet parking

The Hawaii Department of Transportation (DOT) has announced that Honolulu International Airport will begin a pilot project offering valet parking services at the terminal.

The proposed service will start on Saturday (July 15) and will be offered by Ampco System Parking at the departure or second level of the Diamond Head side of the Interisland terminal building.

According to the Hawaii DOT, the service could be expanded to other areas if it proves popular.

A flat rate of $20 per vehicle, per day will be charged for using the valet service, which will be available from 5am until the last flight of the night from the airport, seven days a week.

Ampco currently operates similar programs at Los Angeles, Oakland, and Newark airports, all of which have been well received by passengers using the terminals.
