LOT to upgrade transatlantic business class
© LOT Polish AirlinesPolish national airline LOT has announced a series of upgrades, due to be implemented this summer, to the business classes of its seven transatlantic Boeing 767 planes.
The carrier, which flies to several of the major hubs in the United States including Atlanta, Chicago, and Los Angeles, is expanding rapidly and has employed American company Weber to upgrade its seating.
The additions, such as extra compartments, drinks holders, and electrical sockets, are reportedly among the most advanced for any European airline and are being implemented alongside new ergonomic developments for the seats themselves.
Electronic controls adjust headrests and armrests and LOT has also upgraded its in-flight entertainment, with each individual business-class passenger receiving a portable multimedia player featuring music, films, TV programs, and games.
"All the changes we're implementing in the summer 2006 season mean that traveling with LOT in business class on transatlantic flights is now very comfortable," said Dorota Haller, Director of the Marketing and Product Department.
"This is, in a way, a harbinger for the change in standard due in late 2008, when we'll be putting the new generation Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft into operation."
