Southwest celebrates Boeing milestone

The milestone was marked by Southwest with special livery: a red "2000" badge on the nose of the aircraft below the cockpit window.
The Dallas-based discount airline favors Boeing 737s and the airplane marks the 522nd 737, including retired vessels, to be added to the Southwest fleet.
"Southwest Airlines was the launch customer for the Next-Generation aircraft in 1997 and now all of our aircraft deliveries are Next-Generation Boeing 737-700s," said Laura Wright, Southwest's Chief Financial Officer.
Wright also noted the continued support Boeing had given her airline, saying that the two companies had “grown alongside each other” as the manufacturer continued to offer the latest in passenger comfort, reliability, and low fuel consumption technology.
