Happy grandma wins luxurious London trip
Juana BenRahamim is going to see her grandkids courtesy of Vacation Europe and Cheapflights.com.
“My precious two grandchildren live in Europe, and to have the opportunity to go and visit them…is more than a dream,” says Mrs. BenRahamim.
She’s the winner of Cheapflights.com’s London Vacation Prize package, a contest that saw some 42,000 entries for the Grand Prize drawing.
Mrs. BenRahamim’s entry is clearly focused where it should be - on her grandchildren. But it doesn’t hurt that along with the deal comes a trip for two to London on a major international carrier, seven days’ car rental, two nights’ hotel accommodations at a Hilton, a Rough Guides Prize package valued at $50, and - oh yes - $1,000 spending money. That should buy some ice cream for the grandkids.
This will be a homecoming of sorts for Mrs. BenRahamim, who now lives now in Bellevue, Washington. “I lived in London for nine months,” she says. “I was a nanny for a French family.”
She has been all over the world, to Europe, South America, and Israel. Her favorite city? Buenos Aires, where she was born. “I love the people, the food, the culture, tango in the street – that’s the best!”

Right now, she and her husband are looking to London, and loving it. “We say in Spanish: ‘Sonar no cuesta nada’,” smiles Mrs. BenRahamim. “That means: ‘to dream is free’.” In this case, it certainly is.
