Northeast short-hopper details announced
Following a preliminary announcement earlier this month that Pan Am Clipper Connection was to start operating a series of short-hop flights in the northeast (see New short-hop flights planned for northeast), more details have been announced.
Flights from Elmira-Corning Regional Airport in southern New York state will fly to Boston via Hanscom Field in Bedford, Massachusetts from September 6; to New York City and Philadelphia via Trenton-Mercer Airport from September 12; and to Baltimore-Washington International from September 19.
A special introductory fare of $99 one-way, excluding taxes and charges, is on offer for passengers traveling through September 30. Regular each-way fares are likely to cost around $150.
Through the expanded network of flights, Trenton-Mercer Airport will have service to double the number of destinations it has at present with the addition of one daily nonstop flight to Baltimore-Washington and the two daily nonstoppers to Elmira-Corning.
Pan Am Clipper Connection President David Fink said the additional services had been driven by customer requests.
"You have spoken and we have listened," he said. "We are pleased to build upon that comfort, convenience and civility by expanding our service to two new destinations."
