Punctual Hawaiian Airlines gains baggage-handling recognition
Hawaiian Airlines' baggage handlers are unsurpassed in America, with less than three mishandled baggage reports for every 1,000 passengers.
The monthly Air Travel Consumer Report from the US Department of Transportation (DOT) reveals that Hawaiian beat JetBlue, Northwest, Southwest and Frontier to the top spot for baggage handling in June.
In addition to looking after its customers' suitcases, Hawaiian has also been found to be the most punctual airline – a position it has held for 32 consecutive months.
The DOT report reveals that Hawaiian had a 94.6 per cent on-time performance in June, indicating that the vast majority of its flights arrived within 15 minutes of the scheduled time.
With just 13 cancellations from 4,419 flights in total, Hawaiian was also recognized as the third-best airline for dependability, behind JetBlue and Frontier.
Covering 20 airlines, the DOT report was conceived to provide customers with information on the quality of services offered by a variety of companies.
