Continental's Sacramento switch

Head's up. If you're flying Continental Airlines out of Sacramento International Airport (SMF) know that CO flights will soon operate out of Terminal B-2. The carrier has been flying from Terminal A. The switch takes place on October 1.

By moving over to B-2, Continental's ticket counter and gate will be in the same facility as Alaska Airlines, Horizon, Frontier, discount airline JetBlue, Mexicana, and Northwest.

The switch gives Continental's Sacramento passengers ready access to some of the airport's best eateries and shops: the CNBC Store, Chili's too, Starbucks, Prospector's Pub, and the Wolfgang Puck kiosk. These are on the lower level of B-2. Already ticketed and just cleared security? Chow down or grab a brew at Gorden Biersch restaurant and brewery. You'll find it in the gate area.

Lots of travelers are finding Sacramento attractive of late. In August, 948,395 passengers passed through the portals at SMF. That compares with 947,996 for the same month in 2005.
