Delta, Amex link-up saves money for businesses

A new partnership between Delta Air Lines and American Express Business Credit Card will enable users to gain additional rewards for booking and flying with the airline using their credit card.

Holders of an Amex Business Credit Card will automatically save five percent on all flights purchased direct through Delta and make up to 25 percent savings on other business services.

The discount partnership dubbed OPEN Savings, cuts out the need for promotional coupons and offer codes and maximizes the savings for customers, according to the SkyMiles Managing Director, Jeff Robertson.

It is run through Delta's frequent-flier program, in conjunction with OPEN - the American Express team in charge of the small business branch of the company - and it is marketed exclusively towards Amex's business customer section.

This announcement of savings for Amex customers flying Delta comes as the airline expands its North American network to several new destinations throughout the Caribbean and Mexico, meaning more options for business travel opening up.
