JetBlue just gets better - new entertainment options
Hate to miss CSI, or the Late Show with David Letterman when you travel? You don't necessarily have to - if you fly discount airline JetBlue.
The high-frills, low-fare innovator has just added New York City's WCBS to its in-flight DIRECTV line-up. Not only will you get the station's entertainment programming, but news as well: the CBS Evening News, 60 Minutes, and The Early Show.
The move is especially propitious for New Yorkers. New York City's John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) is JetBlue's prime hub, from which it launches a slew of transcontinental sojourns, and an array of flights up and down the East Coast. The idea of keeping in touch with their hometown station is especially appealing to New Yorkers on the road.
For its part, WCBS says it's “thrilled” by the move. “You're never far from home,” says Peter Dunn, President and General Manager.
DIRECTV isn't the only high-flying perk JetBlue offers. There's XM Satellite radio™ and FOX InFlight™ films as well.
All the video you'll get on JetBlue comes not from overhead screens that pop down in the middle of the cabin, but from seatback sets, the kind featured on international airlines. They save eye strain and are a lot easier on the neck. Not only that, you get to choose what you want to watch.
