Magnificent deals on Magnifica Class

Alitalia’s Magnifica Class really does live up to the name, and now it’s on sale, for as low as $2,437 round-trip from the United States to Italy.

Alitalia’s business class serves up fine food and wonderful wines. You fly the transatlantic ensconced in Italian-designed seats, served by a cabin crew who understand instinctively the niceties of life aloft, all on a discount airfare.

You’ll have to fly by October 31, and purchase your ticket at least 50 days prior to departure. That means no later than Tuesday, September 12. These discount fares are round-trip, and include neither taxes nor fees.

The reason why Alitalia can sell Magnifica for so low a price is that this tariff is designed for leisure travelers. Because of the advance purchase requirement, they’re of limited use to business fliers, who often must travel at the last minute.

Here’s a sampling of the kinds of savings you can expect from this deliciously Italian deal:

- New York (JFK or EWR) to Rome (FCO) $2,643
- Chicago O’Hare (ORD) to Milan (MXP) $2,591

- Boston (BOS) to Venice (VCE) $2,437
- Washington, DC Dulles (IAD) to Florence (FLR) $2,643
- Miami (MIA) to Naples (NAP) $2,437
- New York to Palermo (PMO) $2,849
- Boston to Rome $2,437
- New York to Bologna (BLQ) $2,643
- Boston to Milan $2,437
