Cathay's fascinating JFK to Vancouver deal

Here's a really fascinating discount airfare, a deal that is all but singular. Cathay Pacific, the classy Hong Kong flag carrier, is offering round-trip passage from New York Kennedy (JFK) to Vancouver (YVR) for just $330.

You're going to have to act fast to land, and use, this deal. Book, buy, and fly by October 31. This discount airfare is valid until then or until the deal is deemed to be sold out.

Travel has to be complete by October 31.

This discount airfare is round-trip, but it doesn't include governmental taxes and fees of $63. That's extra. You'll have to travel on Cathay Flights 889 and 888 only.

What's neat about this service is that the aircraft, an intercontinental Boeing 747-400, continues on to Hong Kong (HKG) from Vancouver. This $330 discount airfare won't fly you that far, but the transcontinental portion of the journey is terrific even in Economy Class. Cathay Pacific's in-flight service is nothing short of legendary.

The JFK-YVR discount airfare serves a couple of purposes for Cathay. It fills helps fill the big Boeing on the North American leg of its transpacific service, and it introduces people to the product, perhaps whetting their appetite to travel further the next time, all the way to Hong Kong.
