Flyglobespan to use JFK instead of Newark
A low-cost airline planning flights from Liverpool in England to New York has announced that it will be flying to John F. Kennedy International instead of Newark Liberty, The Liverpool Daily Post reports.
Flyglobespan is set to begin direct daily service between the two cities next May, as reported by Cheap Flight News in July (Lennon link to see New York-Liverpool flights), but has altered its destination airport stateside because it will provide greater convenience for passengers.
"We are delighted to have this addition as it enhances what was already a very good product," said Flyglobespan Chairman Tom Dalrymple.
"It was an opportunity we couldn't miss. JFK is the airport of choice for people wanting to get to New York, and Manhattan is particularly good for business travelers."
Flyglobespan will offer the transatlantic flights from £149 ($280) one-way in Coach Class and £299 ($560) one-way in Business Class seating, including taxes and charges.
The JFK to Liverpool John Lennon International route will be the second U.S. service offered by the carrier, in addition to its direct flight between Orlando and Glasgow.
