JetBlue announces details of new Chicago flights

ChicagoFollowing the announcement earlier this week that JetBlue Airways had finally secured landing slots at long-coveted Chicago O’Hare, the airline has moved swiftly to announce its new services (see JetBlue OK'd for O'Hare).

The low-cost, high-frills carrier will be flying to two major destinations from Chicago: LA/Long Beach and New York-JFK. Both of these will offer connection options to a slew of cities on the JetBlue network.

Effective January 4, 2007, the new flights to the carrier's New York hub will depart Chicago daily at 6am (except Sunday), 9.25am, 12.15pm, 3.40pm, and 6.45pm (except Saturday). The flights will land in New York at 9.20am, 12.45pm, 3.35pm, 7pm, and 10.05pm, respectively.

Return flights between JFK and O'Hare will leave the Big Apple at 7am, 9.55am, 1.15pm, 4.20pm, and 8pm (not Saturday) landing at the Chicago megaport at 8.40am, 11.35am, 2.55pm, 6pm, and 9.40pm, respectively.

The airline will also operate two flights daily to its Los Angeles airport, leaving Chicago at 7.30am and 5.10pm (second flight will not run on Saturday), landing at 9.35pm and 7.25pm. Return legs leave LA at 10.35am and 4.55pm (again, not Saturday), arriving back in Chicago at 4.20pm and 10.40pm, respectively.

In order to celebrate its long-awaited entrance to the Chicago market, JetBlue has unveiled special $36 one-way fares, available until midnight tonight (Friday, October 27), Mountain Time.

This limited time offer is supplemented by a longer-running discount called "O'Hare Fares". Ticket prices for one-way flights to New York from Chicago will start at $59 and California-bound flights will cost from $89 when bought by November 9 for travel between January 4 and February 15, 2007. Restrictions apply.
