Sacramento's oh-so-sweet holiday parking deals

Rarely do you hear of an airline offering holiday discount airfares. All the more rare are holiday airport parking discounts. Remember, that's when lots are fullest, and fliers are frantic to find a place to park. Supply and demand dictates anything but a rate break.

Tell that to the folks who run Sacramento International Airport (SMF), and wish them Happy Holidays.

The classy northern California aerodrome is offering significant holiday parking discounts this year, both for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Thanksgiving discounts run from Wednesday, November 22, through Monday, November 27. Christmas price breaks begin Friday, December 22, and continue through Wednesday, January 3, 2007. In effect, you get a New Year's discount too.

What kind of discounts? Consider:

- $1 off each full day of Economy Parking;
- $2 off each full day of Daily Parking;
- $3 off each full day of Hourly Parking.

Sacramento International Airport will also offer free musical entertainment throughout the holiday travel season for the third year in a row. Performers include a classical harpist, guitarists, pianists, vocalists and a jazz trio with more bookings to come. A complete schedule will be posted mid-November at www.sacairports.org.
