US Airways drops fares in 39 cities
Tempe-based US Airways has given travelers reason for winter cheer as the colder weather sets in - reductions of up to 69 percent off ticket prices to a slew of destinations from coast to coast.
Discounts will be available to and from 39 destinations across the country from the airline's hubs in Charlotte, Phoenix, and Philadelphia, as well as its other major cities - Pittsburgh, New York (LaGuardia) and Washington, D.C. (National).
Both advance purchase and walk-up fares will be subject to lower prices and the special offer is available for travel immediately.
To qualify for the advance purchase prices on offer, customers must book 21 days prior to travel and include at least one night stopover. Specially discounted seats are also limited per flight and are sold on a first-come, first-served basis. Certain blackout dates also apply.
Sample fares include Charlotte to Columbia, South Carolina for $99; New York to Philadelphia is also $99; and Phoenix to Tucson, Arizona for $80. These are one-way advance purchase fares based on a round-trip purchase.
One-way walk-up fares between select destinations have also dropped in price, with fares ranging from $205 on the Phoenix to Tucson route, up to $264 for various other flights, including Philadelphia to Elmira, New York and Charlotte to Manchester, New Hampshire.
