Ah, Ixtapa - Air Canada jets you there
In search of an alternative to Cancun (CUN), something on Mexico's Pacific Coast that's a shade less frenetic? Consider Ixtapa. Air Canada just launched seasonal Saturday-only service from Toronto (YYZ) to Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo (ZIH).
Ixtapa offers some intriguing day trips, great golfing, world-class fishing, and nightlife. Unlike Toronto, from whence Air Canada Flight 1892 departs, the weather in this part of the world is terrific virtually year-round.
AC (that's the airline's code) Flight 1892 pushes back from the gate at Toronto's Pearson International at 8.15 am, arriving Ixtapa at 12.40pm - in plenty of time to change and hit the beach. The return leg is AC1893. It departs ZIH at 1.30pm, getting into Toronto at 7.15pm. Air Canada operates new Airbus A319s on the route. They're fitted for both Executive Class and Economy service.
