Delta becomes first carrier to serve 300 destinations

With its new link between Los Angeles and La Paz in Mexico, Delta Air Lines has today become the first major airline network to fly to 300 global destinations.

The world's fastest growing international carrier will inaugurate the new route today, along with two new Los Angeles services – to Liberia, Costa Rica and Guatemala City, Guatemala.

This month, Delta will commence 16 new routes in 22 days.

A new flight from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International serving Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic will launch today. At the weekend, an Atlanta link with Fort de France in Martinique will begin, as will a new connection between LAX and Managua, Nicaragua, with inaugural Mexican routes lined up for the following week.

"Delta continues to deliver enormous value to our customers through the unparalleled scope of both our domestic and international network," said Glen Hauenstien, Delta's Network Executive Vice-President, commenting on today's milestone.

"We are especially pleased that our 300th destination is being served nonstop from our growing Latin gateway at Los Angeles where we are increasing customer choice and convenience for travel to and from growing markets in Mexico and Central America."

In the past year, Delta has announced 40 new routes to Latin America and the Caribbean.
