Qantas' beautiful business class sale

If ever there was a case for flying business class it's across the Pacific, where distances are vast and flight times seemingly interminable. That's why Qantas' business class sale is so welcome. The classy Australian flag carrier is offering significant savings on roundtrip business class passage Downunder, with discount airfares starting at $9,998.

To get in on these business class deals you'll have to book and buy by January 19, 2007. Then, fly between January 8 and March 31, 2007. All flights have to be from or through Qantas' San Francisco (SFO) gateway, and passage-at least initially-has to be to Sydney (SYD).

Australia is a long way off, so you're going to want to make the most of the trip. Qantas understands. It's offering four stopovers - at no extra charge. Choose from San Francisco, Sydney, Melbourne (MEL), or Brisbane (BNE).

Here's a sampling of the discount airfares Qantas if offering from the United States. None of these quotes include taxes or fees. They're extra.

- Boston (BOS) - Sydney $11,584
- Boston - Brisbane $12,229
- Chicago O'Hare (ORD) - Melbourne $11,859
- Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) - Brisbane $11,563
- Miami (MIA) - Sydney $11,584
- San Francisco - Sydney $9,998
- St. Louis (STL) - Melbourne $11,859

En route, the wine is lovely, the Skybeds commodious (6'6” long), and the service unassumingly superb. About mid-trip the your seat's built-in back massager is wondrously relaxing.
