Track Santa this Christmas with Texas airport Web site
Dallas-Fort Worth International has launched its annual SantaTracker service, with a Web site allowing inquisitive children to follow the movements of Santa Claus as he tours the world.
The site is brimming with tips, deals and games, as well as an interactive interface that tracks Santa's sleigh as it makes its breakneck journey around the globe, plus a virtual reality 'Santa Cam' with a view of Rudolph and the other reindeer as they touch down in northern Texas.
For the sixth year running, families can also phone (972) 586-NOEL from December 23 to check on Santa's progress.
"SantaTracker is a lot of fun for everyone during this holiday week and it received more than 16,500 hits on Christmas Eve last year," said Dallas-Fort Worth's Vice-President of Public Affairs, Ken Capps.
Airport staff members are waiting to greet the Big Man "with a warm potbelly stove, a comfortable rocking chair, and oats, carrots, and water for the reindeer", he added.
The Transportation Security Authority has also added travel tips for festive travelers without a flying sleigh in their backyard, such as remembering not to pack wrapped Christmas gifts or fragile items in checked baggage, and to arrive at the airport in good time.
Classic yuletide games on the SantaTracker site this year include 'Snowball Challenge', 'Wishlist Word Find' and the brand new arcade-style 'Santa's Chimney Drop'.
Santa Tracker is online now and will show Santa's movements as he begins his whirlwind journey from Saturday December 23.
