Delta continues JFK expansion

Delta Air Lines will add to its transcontinental offerings from New York JFK when it begins a new service to Portland, Oregon, from April 17.

The latest nonstop route to be announced by the Atlanta-based carrier will depart from New York at 6.50pm and arrive in the City of Roses at 10.28pm, before departing again at 10.55pm for an overnight flight that touches down in JFK at 7.14am the next morning.

Flights can be booked online now.

"As part of Delta's continued expansion at our New York hub, we're offering customers the convenience of nonstop service to key transcontinental destinations, including Portland," said Bob Cortelyou, Vice-President of Network Planning at Delta.

"Additionally, our Oregon customers will be able to take advantage of our strong international connections from our hub at New York JFK airport, including new nonstop service to Europe, Africa, India, and the Caribbean."

Delta recently pledged $20 million to the continued renovation of terminals two and three at New York JFK, having recently completed a dedicated BusinessElite lounge area and check-in kiosks at the airport.
