El Al offers savings for frequent fliers
Here's one of those instances where it really pays to belong to an airline's frequent-flier program. It's not just a matter of piling up points, but making those points matter. Member of El Al's Matmid program can fly round-trip from New York (JFK or EWR) to Tel Aviv for $499 plus 199 Matmid frequent-flier points. Chicago O'Hare (ORD) to Tel Aviv sells for $599, plus 239 Matmid points; and Los Angeles (LAX) to Tel Aviv for $699, and 349 points.
These discount airfares are available in “N” class, and open only to USA Matmid Club members whose travel originates in the United States. Neither taxes nor fees are included in this deal. They're extra.
