Spirit's $79 fares from East Coast to Nevada

Low-cost carrier Spirit Airlines will launch a direct daily link between Atlantic City, New Jersey, and Las Vegas on May 3.

Fares start at $79 when heading west (Sunday through Wednesday) and when heading east (Tuesday through Friday) until June 15, provided tickets are booked by February 28.

Spirit has also announced that seasonal services will reconnect Detroit with Las Vegas, as well as Los Angeles and San Francisco from May 1. Each of the airline's routes is served by an Airbus aircraft.

"We are thrilled to be able to offer our loyal customers in Atlantic City this nonstop option to fly to one of the top destinations in the world," said Barry Biffle, Chief Marketing Officer at Spirit.

"With the return of our seasonal Detroit service, customers will have even more flight choices to get to the West Coast."

Flight 609 will depart Atlantic City daily at 6.30pm, touching down in Vegas at 8.35pm, Pacific Time. In the opposite direction, Flight 908 will push back from the gate at 9.15pm for a 6am arrival in New Jersey (Eastern Time).
